Liverpool 1 Spurs 1

  1. Finally a bit of fight from Spurs. It’s about time we finally see some fight from Spurs under Igor Tudor with the performance today being by far the best we’ve seen so far under the Croatian. They started relatively well but it was Liverpool who opened the scoring as Dominik Szoboszlai scored direct from a free-kick which Vicario probably should have saved but you feared the worst for Spurs then as Liverpool hit the post but they did create a few chances of their own with Richarlison going close quite a few times in a first half performance which was much better from Spurs than recent matches. The second half was much the same as the Anfield crowd moaned and groaned every time Liverpool gave away the ball with the game becoming end-to-end in the closing stages a long ball wasn’t cleared by Robertson giving the ball to Kolo-Muani who ran into the box and passed it to Richarlison who rolled the ball past Alisson in the 89th minute to give Spurs a well-deserved point at Anfield.

  2. A blueprint to follow for Spurs. I really liked how Spurs played today and if it wasn’t for some poor goalkeeping by Vicario they easily could have came away with three points but they fought valiantly for every 50/50 ball and created numerous chances that another day would have been taken. The midfield of Sarr and Archie Gray was excellent along with Spence and Souza who kept Liverpool’s forwards relatively quiet on the day, defensively I was worried for Spurs before the game without Romero and Van De Ven but Danso and Dragusin were brilliant with the Romanian making a crucial last-minute block from Ekitike’s shot to maintain the point for Spurs. Kolo-Muani was excellent off the bench as Mathys Tel put in yet another lacklustre performance but Kolo-Muani looked a level above as soon as he came on then setting up Richarlison for the equaliser. They look ahead to midweek where it would need a miracle for Spurs to turn around that 3-goal deficit against Atletico Madrid but that game against Nottingham Forest is make or break for Spurs’ season next Sunday.

  3. Another disastrous result for Arne Slot. Liverpool were crying out for a bit of quality going forward as the frontline of Ngumoha-Gakpo-Frimpong was a really strange shout for Slot with none of them really playing that well on the day, Salah was horrendous yet again off the bench along with Ekitike as Liverpool really should have put that game to bed in the second half with so many chances on the break. The final ball was so poor from the Liverpool forwards and let Spurs build into the game eventually getting the goal which was coming the entire second half, the goal Liverpool conceded was comical with Robertson having a pitiful attempt of a clearance as Kolo-Muani was allowed to run into the box unchallenged. The result leaves Liverpool five points off United in 3rd but it keeps them in the top 5 for now as they look to bounce back against Brighton next week.

  4. Spurs aren’t getting relegated. It’s been horrendous at Spurs so far in 2026 not even registering a win in the Premier League as of the 15th of March but I think after the international break they’ll start to recover some players and get themselves out of this mess they are in with West Ham and Nottingham Forest, having said that the game next week against Forest is monumental for both sides as if either of them lose it will have dire consequences in the relegation battle. West Ham play Aston Villa at Villa park and with Unai Emery’s side in free-fall Nuno will be confident to come away from the midlands with at least a point, I just can’t see this Spurs team going down and I do think we saw a tiny glimpse of the quality in the Spurs team today even if Liverpool were shocking.

  5. The teams fighting for the Champions League spots are faltering. Other than Man United the rest of the teams looking for that top 4/5 spot dropped points this weekend with Chelsea losing to Newcastle, Villa losing to Man United and Liverpool dropping points to Spurs, it seems like this happens every season where the race comes down to the final day and that will probably happen again this season. Villa are the team most at risk in my opinion as they have the Europa League to focus on along with having some injury problems over the last couple of months, Chelsea are having an awful time of it and will most likely go out of the Champions League on Tuesday to PSG barring a miracle. Liverpool play Galatasaray at Anfield on Wednesday and need to overturn a 1-goal deficit to go through, the pressure would multiply on Arne Slot if they go out on Wednesday to a team has had a terrible record away from home in the Champions League this season, all eyes on the Liverpool manager on Wednesday in one of the biggest games of the season for Liverpool.
